Neil J. McCurry

McCurry, Cornelius J. “Neil”, 78, retired draftsman, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007. He was born December 12, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Irish immigrant parents, Mary Rafferty and Neial McCurry. Neil was a veteran of World War II. He served as a machinists mate, third class on the USS Warrington in the United States Navy. After graduating from the Brooklyn Technical Institute, Neil worked as a draftsman in Jackson Heights, NY. Upon his retirement, he relocated to Wichita, KS. Neil was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cook McCurry and his son Bobby McCurry. Also preceding Neil in death were his brother, Michael McCurry and his sister, Anna Koebel. Neil is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Grace McCurry, Medfield, MA, sister, Catherine Kondracke Lake Wales, FL, Rita McCurry, wife of deceased brother Michael Shelton, CT and 24 nieces and nephews. The rosary will be held Monday, July 16, 7:00 P.M. and the funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 17, 10:30 A.M., both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Ascension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
