Judy and I shared an office while she was serving in the Kansas Legislature….for 12 years. We as much of a family that we could be. She joined me for holidays and vacations and who knows how many other trips we took together around Kansas…mainly through the Kansas Geological Survey trip…which she loved. I loved her dearly and will miss her terribly…always. ~ Rep. Annie Kuether – Topeka
Judy was a good friend of my wife Jeanette when they taught together at Allen elementary school. I will never forget the day she brought three rose bushes to my house to celebrate Jeanette’s life following her death. May God be with her family celebrating a life well-lived! Grace and Peace- Rick Thornton
It’s hard to believe that Judy Loganbill is no longer on this earth. She was a true friend and an ever-present force in my life during my many years in Kansas. She had a servant’s heart, dedicating years of her life to instructing and caring for kids as well as working tirelessly to enhance our education system. She was a passionate advocate for justice and someone who always showed up to do the work that needed done. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I first met Judy in 2000 when she was running for the Kansas House. It was her first run for office and my first time being involved in politics as a volunteer. She was one of the few candidates who won that year. Her enthusiasm for creating change was contagious. I spent the next 10 years working in Democratic Party politics, and Judy Loganbill was always a central force in the party organization so many of us worked hard to build. She was at every function and fundraiser. She was always there to support other candidates. She truly epitomized what it means to live in community. What I loved most about Judy was her ability to connect. She was your friend before she was your legislator. For her, politics was all about building community. I will always hold dear the memories of nights spent sitting by the fireplace at Cindy Mann ‘s house after our annual holiday fundraiser was over. Eating peanut M&Ms, we’d laugh and gossip for hours with whatever small group was still there hours after the main event concluded. Judy is one of those people who added true enjoyment and deep meaning to my life. I know many who can say the same about their own! May all of us embody that spirit of purpose and connection that Judy exemplified.
I am very saddened to hear of Judy’s passing. She was a tremendous person and a terrific colleague and friend. I admired her work in the State House and how passionately she fought for the issues we care about. Although I left Kansas 10 years ago, I still fondly remember many stories about time in Topeka. I even remember one day when Judy put a sign in my “office” (really a cubicle in the Docking Office Building) that said “Raj Goyle’s Filing Cabinet” — which was a funny reference to the piles and piles of paper I had everywhere that prevented from anyone from sitting down! Deepest condolences from Monica and me to Judy’s family and all she touched. Raj Goyle NYC
I knew Judith for her work as a Legislature. She was always a LIGHT as I did my legislative advocacy . We have lost a woman of strong values who cared about children and people who struggle. Kansas is poorer and Heaven is richer. Peace, Sister Therese Bangert
