Eva Ann Ross

Eva Ann “Ann” Ross died Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Ann was the oldest daughter of Luther Mannon Mullins and Eva Mae (Smith) Mullins, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Mechelle Bump of Newton, KS, and her sister, Sandra Gail Claussen of Cabool, MO. Survived by her sisters, Gloria Jean (Jerry) Henry of Peculiar, MO; Marla Reene Roelandt of Bellevue, IA; and her wife, Sarah Snell of Wichita, KS. Ann had a lifelong commitment to animals and nature. It was a rare moment to see her without a dog or cat in her arms. She rescued dozens of animals in her lifetime - feeding them, nursing them back to health, getting them spayed or neutered, finding them forever homes, and sometimes inviting them to join her own family of pets. She was also a friend and savior to all kinds of wildlife in need of care: squirrels, turtles, birds, opossums, raccoons, snakes, bats - a true “Wildlife Whisperer.” In recognition of Ann’s gentle and compassionate spirit, please carry on her legacy by nurturing the wildlife in your own surroundings and caring for the trees and plants that replenish the earth.
