Donald R. Long

Donald R. Long, passed away June 13, 2021, after a long battle with frontotemporal degeneration. Donald was born to Thurman Roy and Twyla Long in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, on November 4, 1941. He graduated from Bushton High School and Hutchinson Community College. Don worked in the agricultural, oil and gas, and aircraft industries. He loved to spend time with family and friends, work on home projects and volunteer at his church where he served as an AWANA leader for 19 years. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Mason Rhodes. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Karla (Thomas) Rhodes, Kollen (Tammy) Long, Kerri (Beau) Boggess and Steven (Melissa Keefe) Long; grandchildren, Merrick, Makena and Makrae Rhodes, Grace and Evan Long, Kyle and Briley Boggess; siblings, Joy Nickerson, Billy Long, Nadine Oberle and Sharon Dohrman. Visitation with the family present, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 18; Memorial Service, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 19, both at West Evangelical Free Church, 1161 N. Maize Road in Wichita.
