Scott, John Logan "J. L."Scott, John Logan “J. L.”, 69, retired Tiede Line Company electrical line foreman and former Principal Financial Group insurance agent, died Monday, March 1, 2010. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral service will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at West Heights United Methodist Church. Graveside service will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, at the Andover Cemetery, Andover, Kansas. John was preceded in death by his parents, Harman and Hattie (Laham) Scott; sisters, Dorothy Roof, of Ellinwood, KS, Lona Potter, of Lyons, KS, and Mary Helm, of Chase, KS; brother, Theo Dewitt Scott, of Loveland, TX. John is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home; daughters, Danielle, of the home, Cheryl Piers (Robert), of New Bedford, MA, and Christine Scott, of Dartmouth, MA; sister, Sue Brower, of Lyons, KS; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with the Singing Quakers, c/o Friends University, 2100 W. University Ave, Wichita, Kansas, 67213.

I wanted to write something here to tell you how much I love and miss you. You were the best father anyone could have ever asked for and I will always cherish the memories we shared together. I know God has a reason for everything and even though it is hard right now I know it will get easier in time. I know you wouldn't want all of us to be upset for too long. I miss you. I promise to stop crying in time...love the rat.
