Lawrence, Marguerite MarieLawrence, Marguerite Marie, 93, loving mother and aviation enthusiast, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Having soloed in a J-3 Piper Cub in 1937, she went on to ferry planes from the Lock Haven, Pennsylvania Piper factory to Fairbury, Nebraska. She was active in the EAA, OX5 and Ninety-Nines aviation clubs, and a member of the Depression glass club. She was also a long time member of Countryside Christian Church and was active in Sunday school and senior activities. She was a devoted volunteer for Sun-N-Fun and Oshkosh Air Venture Fly-In’s, and the Kansas Aviation Museum. Preceded in death by husband Lt. Cmdr. R. Eugene Lawrence; son, Craig; granddaughter, Melinda; great granddaughter, Ava; parents, Frederick and Henriette Sonderegger; brothers, Frederick and Arnold. Step great grandchildren Jessica Jarman, John Jarman; Joanna (Jason) McCabe; Barron, Audra, Malisa, Lara Thompson, Step great-great children Robert Jarman, Owen, Ansley McCabe, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be 7-9 p.m., Sunday, February 21, at Downing & Lahey East. Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 22, at Countryside Christian Church, 1919 S. Rock Rd, Wichita, KS 67207. Memorials have been established with Countryside Christian Church; OX5-Kansas Wing; Kansas Chapter of Ninety-Nines and the Kansas Aviation Museum.
