Enegren, Carolina Ethel Santander CarmonaEnegren, Carolina Ethel Santander Carmona, 31, mother, wife, daughter, sister, artist and community volunteer, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from complications of the H1N1 flu virus. Carolina was born in Chuquicamata, CHILE, and moved with her family to Wichita at age 12. Here she graduated from Wichita Northwest and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wichita State University. After an eleven year courtship, she married her high school sweetheart and soul mate, Paul Enegren. They had two sons and were building a beautiful life together. Carolina had an unparalleled sense of family with close ties to her parents, brothers, and extended family members. She was most extraordinary as a mother with flawless instincts regarding the best interests of their sons. A talented artist, she had many awards to her credit. She was a founding member of the Latina sorority, Kappa Delta Chi, and a member of HALO while at WSU. She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Junior League, and Friends of Rainbows United. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Emilio Carmona and Lidia Huanchicay, Modesto Santander and Clara Cortes. She is survived by her husband, Paul Enegren; sons, Phillip-Antonio (PJ), age 4 and Nicholas-Emilio (Nico), age 3, all of the home; her parents, Modesto Antonio Santander Cortes and Ada Nilda Carmona Huanchicay of Wichita; brothers, David Santander (Ana Caviedes), Mauricio Santander (Diana Barrios) and Alex Santander, all of Wichita; mother and father-in law, Linda and Phil Enegren of Wichita and many extended family members. Visitation with the family, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Rosary, 7:30 p.m., both Monday, February 15, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 1:00 p.m., Tuesday February 16, First United Methodist Church. Memorials have been established with Wichita State University Foundation (Carolina Enegren Memorial), 1845 Fairmount St., Wichita KS 67260 and with Rainbows United Charitable Foundation, 340 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.
