Gilligan, Florine Doris (Jones), 87, artist, poet and mother of 9, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. Rosary 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 11, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Preceded in death by husband, James, son, Larry, daughter, Rosemary Farmer and parents, Thomas and Pearl Jones. Survivors: sons, Robert of Wichita; David of Olathe, John (Amy) of Lawrence, KS, Richard of Wichita, Brian of Albuquerque, NM and Kerry of Wichita; daughter, Maureen Kirby of Wichita.
I will miss Florine and her art. What a sweet spirit she had.

My thoughts and prayers go to the family of Florine. She was such a wonderful person and I remember her fondly. She was a mom to all of us kids in the neighborhood when we were growing up. I remember my mom talking her into taking her first class in painting. The first exhibit she won. I remember that day as if it was not that long ago. Love from the Baker family
