Having joined the mortuary in 1981, Laura Schlotthauer-Williams left her position at Downing & Lahey to become a full-time mom in 1995. Yet when her two children were grown, there was little question as to whether she would try to re-join the mortuary’s staff.
 
Having worked with three generations of the Morris family at Downing & Lahey, Laura understood the mortuary’s high standards when it comes to the experience and quality service provided by its staff. Laura remains impressed with the teamwork Downing & Lahey employees demonstrate as they pursue a shared goal: providing the most compassionate care and services to the families they serve.
 
A licensed Assistant Funeral Director, Laura is also a past vice president of the Kansas Chapter of SIDS. Her husband, Dave, is Public Safety Director for the City of Mulvane and former officer of the Wichita Police Department. They have two children and two grandsons. An active wildlife enthusiast, Laura also enjoys gardening and cooking.
